Have you heard of the Invisible Gorilla experiment?
It’s an experiment done by psychologists at the University of Utah.
It’s a pretty simple but very interesting experiment.
Here how it worked: test subjects watch a quick video of people passing a basketball.
The test subjects are instructed to count exactly how many times the ball is passed.
While they are focused on counting the passes, a man in a gorilla costume casually strolls through the video, thumps his chest, and walks off screen.
Incredibly, about 50% of viewers do not see the gorilla because they are so focused on counting the passes.
The gorilla is completely invisible to them.
Psychologists call this inattentional blindness.
It is our inability to see things that are right in front of us because our focus is somewhere else.
Husbands and wives may have experienced something similar when their spouse can’t remember an important task they needed to do.
“You only hear what you want to hear!” is the often the accusation.
When it comes to our health, we have a similar kind of “inattentional blindness” that can lead to incredible illness, discomfort, and exhaustion.
We are often so focused on fixing obvious “big” things right in front of us like our weight, bloog pressure, cholesterol, stubborn fat, and fatigue…
That we can’t see that the real problem (and its solution) is actually deep inside our cells.
In fact, the root of all those problems--weight gain, fatigue, fat--is in our mitochondria.
Your mitochondria are the “powerhouse of the cell.” Mitochondria produce ALL the energy your body needs to do everything.
From thinking, breathing, digesting food, and pumping blood, to lifting weights, walking, and blinking: your mitochondria produce the energy to do it all.
As we age and if we make unhealthy choices, our mitochondria start to suffer and produce less energy.
This creates a ton of problem that manifest themselves as those “bigger” issues like wrinkled skin, brain fog, fat storage, tiredness, and poor sleep
If left unchecked, all these problems, in turn, cause more serious issues like heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, neurodegenerative diseases, liver problem, arthritis, and many more.
These “bigger” issues become the focus of all the treatment options that we usually hear about.
Medications, pain pills, surgeries: all of them focus on relieving the big problems that our bodies have.
When that happens, we can no longer see the gorilla. It is invisible to us.
We don’t see that our bodies have a molecular energy production problem: metabolism, fatigue, brain function.
These are all energy issues!
And we now have a way to fix them by targeting their root cause at the molecular level.
