The Answer to the Question “Why Am I So Tired?”


 

I wake up every day asking myself, “Why am I so tired?” 

I thought our phones and all this new technology was supposed to help us relax and give us more time to spend with our family and friends. 

Sure we’re more “connected” online, but are we really closer?

Instead, it seems like our world is just moving at breakneck speed all the time. 

I’ll admit, it’s hard for me to keep up with the new “breakthroughs” coming out all the time. 

There’s always someone telling you about some new food you shouldn’t eat...even though you’ve been eating it for 40 years. 

I saw this “doctor” on TV the other day saying he had some “secret list” of vegetables you shouldn’t eat anymore

So now vegetables aren’t even good for you? What’s next? 

Tomorrow they’ll be telling us that eating steaks and drinking beer all day is the secret key to immortality.

I can’t keep track of it anymore. I just want one solution, one “thing” to help me. 

I look at my grandkids and I wonder what their world will look like in 50 years. 

Sometimes I’m hopeful. 

But most mornings when I wake up and feel like I could sleep another 8 hours, I don’t have a good feeling about the future.

And that’s the real reason why I want to figure out why am I so tired every day.

I want to be there for my grandkids as long as I can.

Your cells allow you to run, walk, talk, breath, and think…

And they also manage your metabolism, fight diseases, manage your sleep schedule, and digest your food.

So for right now, think of your body as a bunch of cells all packed together into "you."

Now, every single one of those cells has a little power plant inside of it

Those power plants are called mitochondria

The mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell” maybe you remember that from high school biology. 

Every single cell is powered by your mitochondria…

Which means that YOU are powered by your mitochondria, including your metabolism, immune system, and sleep schedule.

When we are young, our mitochondria produce a TON of energy and they are very, very healthy. 

And our bodies use a TON of calories for those mitochondria to make all that energy.

This is why you see little kids running around the dinner table after Thanksgiving while the adults try not to fall asleep.
